I always like to be honest with what I write on this blog, and after watching last night's episode of Nikita, I felt the need to publish an article like this to speak about why I feel more people should be tuning in to such a fascinating television show. Nikita centers around a scorned woman gone rogue from a secret organization called Division, after she discovers they were responsible for the murder of her fiancée, Daniel. Through romance, mistrust, and a whole lot of kickass action scenes, she strives to plot the group's demise as a running operation.
Throughout season one, Nikita (Maggie Q) enlists in a division agent named Alex (Lyndsey Fonseca), to secretly work as a mole and help her bring the group down. Meanwhile, Division, headed by leader, Percy (Xander Berkeley), will stop at no avail to ensure Nikita is off their radar. Michael (Shane West) a.k.a the Man who trained Nikita when she was a member of Division, now plots to take her down, although can seemingly never bring himself to do so when given countless chances.
Why Do I Watch It:
I typically like to give all new shows a chance to win me over per a 3 episode law. If I'm not impressed by the third episode, it is removed from my viewing and wished well in its future endeavors. Let's just say it didn't even take Nikita one full episode to win the rights to my viewing, for it was that intriguing to me. Of all the shows I watch, it's easily in the top five, and without a doubt my personal favorite on the CW Network. Action, Adventure, Storylines...What more could you ask for in a show?
Why Should You Watch It:
You should watch it because it's great, obviously! In all seriousness though, I say give the first episode a shot and judge from there. I've not seen a single person say they don't enjoy the show, which is pretty rare to come by these days. If you like seeing fight scenes, give it a shot. If you like actual progressing storylines, give it a shot. If you like anyone in the cast, give it a shot. Pretty much all I ask is that you try it out, because trust me, you will not be anything short of amazed by its perfection.
How Can You Watch It:
- You can check out the first episode here for $1.99
- You can also buy the first season on DVD here for $18.95-$37.99.
In Conclusion:
Much more happens throughout the first season, but for all intended purposes of this article, this will remain a spoiler free zone. With the second season starting up last night, it would greatly behoove you all to check this one out. Trust me when I say that it is phenomenal TV, and I would absolutely hate to see anything less than stellar success for both it and all of its stars.
