Show of the Week: Modern Family

09/18/11 - 09/24/11

Make it no secret that Modern Family completely shattered all forms of the comedy category last Sunday night at the Emmy Awards...but after it's laugh-filled double episode season premiere this week, I think it's pretty clear to see that all the hype is completely justified. Coming off its many victories, the show returned into our doom and gloom lives, and enlightened them in a way that only the Pritchet and Dunphy families could in episode "Dude Ranch".

What You Should Be Watching: Nikita Edition

I always like to be honest with what I write on this blog, and after watching last night's episode of Nikita, I felt the need to publish an article like this to speak about why I feel more people should be tuning in to such a fascinating television show. Nikita centers around a scorned woman gone rogue from a secret organization called Division, after she discovers they were responsible for the murder of her fiancée, Daniel. Through romance, mistrust, and a whole lot of kickass action scenes, she strives to plot the group's demise as a running operation.

"A guest in my trundle bed and a boy at my door? I wish I could tell thirteen year old me it does get better!"

Much like "Show of the Week" honors our personal favorite program throughout the week in review, this feature will honor the single performance of a star who wow'd us with their intensity, their comedy, or whatever makes them...them!

USA Double Header: What Summer Shows Do I Miss Most?

It's no secret that Summer Television is chock full of primarily guilty pleasure shows that one can sit back and relax to, but throughout that crop of reality goodness, there stems a few bright lights that lead us to the tunnel of addiction...TV addiction that is.

This year, those freshman series guiding lights came to me in the form of USA Network Originals, Suits and Necessary Roughness.

Review: The Playboy Club (Season 1 - Pilot)

Monday night launched perhaps one of the more controversial series premieres of the 2011 fall season, in hopeful NBC hit, The Playboy Club. Whether it be from the PTC or the Mad Men fanbase, this program has already seen its fair share of critics, but now that the actual pilot has seen the light of day on television screens worldwide, how will it convey intrigued viewers?

The series, set in 1963, centers around Playboy, and the rising upswing of the "Bunnies" in such a time where the scantily clad females we see today were not all that popular. Hugh Hefner provides a voiceover or two, but is portrayed on screen as a younger version who's only viewed from the backside.

The Highs & Lows of the 2011 Emmy Awards

Take a look at some of the moments that stuck out to me from last night's show, whether for positive or negative reasons.
